San Miguel de Allende recognized as the best small city in the world

San Miguel de Allende was recognized as the best small city in the world by the international magazine Conde Nast Traveler at the Readers’ Choice Awards 2022.

This recognition was granted by the international magazine Condé Nast Traveler, considered the most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry, by distinguishing the best international cities in the world, for their tourism offerings that provide exceptional life experiences to its travelers.

For the third consecutive year and fifth in its history, San Miguel won this award in the “Readers’ Choice Awards 2022” by topping the Top 10 of the Best Small Cities, ahead of iconic destinations in the world such as Oxford in the United Kingdom, Bruges in Belgium or the Spanish San Sebastian or Malaga. The first time this international recognition was obtained was in 2013.

In its 35th edition, the “Readers’ Choice Awards 2022” of Condé Nast Traveler magazine highlighted that San Miguel is booming internationally as a family destination, by offering a chain of tourist services that satisfies the tourist, through the generation of unique experiences to the senses, with its wonderful architectural views, its delight to the palate, its traditional aromas, its passion to the touch with wellness tourism, and the hostess of its people that fills the ear of its visitors.

Condé Nast Traveler confirms that there is an unprecedented enthusiasm for travel in the world, demonstrated by a quarter of a million people who participated in this award, most of whom recognized San Miguel as their favorite destination when visiting the concept of a small international city.

Qualified as a “jewel”, San Miguel de Allende is recognized as a center for artists, distinguished by its Spanish colonial architecture and colorful facades, with tourist attractions such as galleries and pop-up stores, with local artisans and international hotels, becoming a favorite destination for foreign tourists who love its food and wine, as well as its architecture and art.

Likewise, the hotels of this World Heritage City led the ranking of “Best Hotel in Mexico”, with Hotel Matilda in the first place, considered property of great tradition and sophistication, offering its guests the pleasure of being in a true art gallery with great hospitality.

In the number three position on this outstanding list is Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, which since its inauguration in 2011 has been recognized among the best hotels in Mexico and the world.
