San Miguel de Allende greener than ever; 100,000 plants to be planted over 3 months

The Environmental and Sustainability Department of INFONAVIT Malanquín starts a reforestation campaign in San Miguel de Allende. In three months it seeks to plant 100,000 native species throughout the municipality.Early in the morning, personnel from the Environmental Department, together with parents from the Federico Froebel kindergarten, gathered on Neoclassical Avenue to begin planting trees.
Throughout these three months, they will intervene at 80 points in urban and rural areas, including green areas, parks, schools and areas with natural vegetation.
With this reforestation, San Miguel de Allende will be greener than ever, therefore the following species will be planted: Palo dulce Ocotillo, pirul, Moctezuma pine, palo dulce, poplar, and paraíso. Native plants, are adapted and tolerant to the region. The species come from the municipal nursery.
