Municipal traffic elements again “closed the way” and now it was the turn of the members of traditions that, as decades ago (except during the pandemic), held celebrations in the center of the city.
It was today during the feast of Señor San José in the Obraje neighborhood, that the highway patrols diverted the contingent away from the garden, where they always did it until the last governments and a pandemic decided for them.
Citizens on social networks began to express their annoyance after Mayor Mauricio Trejo Pureco uploaded a post saying:
“Traditions return to the street, yesterday and today San Jose de la montaña, Santo entierro returns, the locos, we must privilege our traditions! (SIC)” .
After the post, different profiles began to point out that the festival of the people of San Miguel has only served for governments to stick their necks out and “salute with a hat of another”, preventing them from holding their festivities as they are tradition and there are a few:
“Privileging traditions says … if the first to give them in the m… is the same government”: Marita G.
“Denying access to the crazy people’s gatherings is not privileging traditions, sir, it is believing you are the owner of a land that does not belong to you”: Tomás M.
“We need to wake up gentlemen, respect our beliefs and traditions, not a few decide where we can and cannot go. Get to work seriously”: Vicente Hdez. -
