On March 8^th, the world celebrates International Women’s Day.  The Midday Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende is honored to showcase some of the more celebrated women of the greater San Miguel.

International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women, who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities. In 2021, this year’s theme is Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a Covid 19 World.  The theme celebrates the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Women stand at the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis, as health care workers, caregivers, innovators, community organizers and as some of the most exemplary and effective national leaders in combating the pandemic. This is especially true in San Miguel de Allende.  The Midday Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende will not only spotlight our local Covid Heroines, but we will also reflect on the dignified, brilliant, charismatic women who hold our world together.  Women’s stories’ matter.  Collectively they weave a tapestry of compassion and service that enriches San Miguel in countless ways.

They may not all be famous, but they are indeed superheroes in their own way.  They are your friends, family, colleagues, bosses, influencers, and leaders.  They are using their voices in small and large ways to create positive change.
