There are 300 restaurants and 180 hotels belonging to the National Chamber of Restaurants and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac), the National Chamber of Commerce (Canaco), and the Hotel Association, who through the campaign “Have you already been vaccinated?”, seek to recover the tourism that decreased 60% with the pandemic.
“The truth, I think it is a very good option… I already got vaccinated and my charges were 200 pesos and it went down to 150. The truth is that it was a super discount and a good option for the people who visit us in San Miguel de Allende”. Jaime Leiva, bar customer in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.
The businessmen are also looking for this to be an incentive for those who have not been vaccinated against the new coronavirus.
“Each restaurant and each hotel decides what they are going to give them, some give discounts on the final bill in some percentage, other places are giving away drinks or food. Depending on each place, it is the promotion that is being given”. Laura Torres, president of the Tourism Council of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.
Discounts for vaccinated people in these businesses in San Miguel de Allende are also given as a token of appreciation.
“Well, look, we are offering a free drink. If you show me or prove to me that you already have your COVID vaccine, as a token of appreciation and commitment from people to everyone; that’s what we are offering at this place.” Laura Heredia, manager of a bar in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.
