Process your ‘INAPAM’ credential if you have already turned 60; this August 29 began a new stage

This August 29, the Ministry of Welfare begins a new stage in the issuance of the credential of the National Institute of Older Adults (Inapam) for people from the age of 60 who have not yet obtained it.

The Inapam credential is a valid official ID. In this new stage it changes its image, since it has an online system linked to the National Population Registry (Renapo), as well as a digital seal that verifies its authenticity and allows access to benefits and discounts on services and purchases in different commercial establishments.

The credentialing process is completely free and its delivery is immediate. The Secretariat of Welfare increased from 650 to 2,500 Wellness Modules throughout the country to offer better care.

The steps to obtain the Inapam credential are: locate the nearest Wellness Module on the page of the Secretariat of Welfare gob.mx/bienestar; go from 10 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon from Monday to Saturday; present the required documentation: original and copy of the current official identification, CURP, legible birth certificate, proof of address not older than six months, a recent child-size photograph and contact telephone number for emergency cases; once the data is entered into the system, the credential is printed and delivered.

Older adults can ask a trusted person to help them in the procedures or request a home visit in case of not being able to attend due to force majeure.

The Inapam card recognizes the contribution of all older adults in the construction of Mexico; offers various benefits and discounts on the payment of property tax, water, food, medicines, clinical studies, education, recreation, cultural activities, transportation and clothing, among others. All previously issued Inapam credentials are valid and current; in case of loss, with the same registration the replacement can be processed.

In San Miguel de Allende the module for older adults is located in the facilities of the municipal presidency.
