As our thoughts turn to the Holliday Season and sensations of abundance, prosperity, delicious desserts, etc… Fabulous memories fill our heads and hearts of times past… meals and meetings of the mind and soul with friends and family of the way we were.
I clearly remember sumptuous family gatherings with all the fixings, San Miguel Allende with a population of 45,000 people including all 32 exterior communities. Town began at the Aurora Factory and ended at the Pemex on the Salida de Celaya…there were no supermarkets.
We only had one movie theater on San Francisco St. (Cine Aldama), we could be pampered with food and drink at Hotel Buganvillias or the Sierra Nevada, evenings were spent at La Fragua, or Poncho, and Lefty’s.
This was a time when crime was all but nonexistent and the family unit was securely intact, we had flu season, but no one received annual injections to avoid it.
Some say that was a better time in the world as well as here in Mexico, I agree it was a different time.
This year I was gifted time by the directors, board members, volunteer’s or in some cases the founders of several of our local NGO’s or NPO’s (A.C.’s) such as Ojala Ninos, Jovenes Adelante, Feed the Hungry, Patronato Pro Ninos, Casa, and Caminos de Agua as well as a number of animal rights organizations.
This time was well spent finding out from the people “on the ground” what our needs as a community are, where we are falling short, and what can be done about it.
It was also a time for recognition of just how much “goodwill” still exists and how much our local “human beings” are willing to do with their time and resources to systemically exert themselves into a process called “change”.
I am inspired and blessed to have met each one of you.
My (our) commitment as a law firm remains steadfast, to the entire community and its organizations to continue to help and support through our Pro-Bono Program any, and all of our community’s needs legally.
This is the area where we can be most proficient in and share our time and resources through the Inmtec Foundation as we have done for the last eighteen years helping those in danger, minorities, or simply those lacking financial resources to sufficiently defend themselves.
Our board is now accepting new cases for 2022, if you or someone you know needs help, we are here and available to help.
As much as things change, oftentimes, I feel is equal to how much they stay the same, yes change is in the air, that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. It’s not so much what happens as to us, a much as it is about how we react to what is happening to ALL of us.
Please accept with gratitude our very best wishes this Holliday Season.
Blessings upon us all,
Sincerely,
Ángel Marín Díaz.Inmtec Legal Services SMA.
