Mayor Mauricio Trejo met with the Rotary San Miguel de Allende Midday club to give them an account of his first year in office.
Accompanied by the trustee Faviola Correa, the Secretary of Public Security, Municipal Traffic and Civil Protection, Gabriel Yáñez and the person in charge of NGOs and attention to the foreign community, Sofía Espinoza, the municipal president presented a summary of outstanding actions in the economy, social development, security, environment, education, administration and recovery of public spaces, Public finance, mobility, field, sport and the defense of municipal heritage.
Mauricio Trejo detailed these actions of the Municipal Government, clarified the doubts of the attendees and responded to the questions of those present, such as David Bossman and other social representatives, about the application of public policies in which the common good and the inclusion of citizen proposals have been prioritized.
Before a hundred attendees gathered at the Santa Anna theater of the AC Public Library, the municipal president stressed that San Miguel de Allende is better every day due to citizen participation with its government, where progress during 365 days has been remarkable and impacted the lives of San Miguel families.
In addition, he made it clear that, although there are problems of competences of both the federal and state order, the Municipality attends to them, such as the case of the water lily or taxi concessions; however, Mauricio Trejo stressed that the government of San Miguel attends to the extent of its possibilities and legal powers.
Likewise, the municipal president was emphatic in the care of the local economy, ruling out the arrival of another transnational self-service store, since it is unnecessary and would negatively impact the income of local businesses and family stores.
