Israel’s Ashlee Bond won in equestrian event in San Miguel de Allende

Israel’s Ashlee Bond was the winner with her horse Donatello on the third day of the GNP Otomí Grand Prix Mayor League Show Jumping Mexico held on Saturday, October 30 at the Club Hípico de San Miguel de Allende, according to El Sol de México.
Ashlee Bond was part of the Israeli equestrian team that participated in this year’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, along with Mexican-born Alberto Michán and Teddy Vlock.
In the women’s individual equestrian show jumping final, Bond, who was born in the U.S. to an Israeli father, finished 11th. In the qualifiers for the team show jumping final, Bond was disqualified.
Also participating in the race was Israeli Daniel Bluman, who placed 25th in the competition.
There were 36 riders of different nationalities who participated in the GNP Seguros event, with 12 Mexican riders, including Nicolás Pizarro, Arturo Parada, Federico Fernández, Patricio Pasquel, Alejandro Mills, José Antonio Chedraui, among others, who competed in the 5 Star Grand Prix, a 1.50/1.60 meter hurdle competition.
The event was attended by personalities of the San Miguel society and special guests such as Claudia Ruiz Massieu, Daniel Rihan, Antonio Fernández, Drew Deckman, Héctor Aguilar, Sara Hank, Inés Sainz, Sofía Legorreta, Jorge Goñi, Santiago Somer, Iñaki Goyeneche, Patricio Kuri, Francisco Pasquel, Claudia Suinaga, among others.
Prior to the competition and in the framework of the Day of the Dead, a commemorative parade was held with a monumental movable catrina and several costumed dancers.
