Thousands of San Miguel de Allende locals, tourists, and visitors bid farewell to the year 2022 with joy and gathered in the Main Square to welcome the New Year in a festive atmosphere.

Entire families came to the main square of the city to celebrate the arrival of the new year and chant in unison the countdown that welcomed 2023 in a framework of music, pyrotechnics, and happiness on the part of those present. It is worth mentioning that at this time of the year, San Miguel de Allende is one of the most visited cities in Guanajuato and the country.

Local residents and more than 63 nationalities living in this cosmopolitan city started 2023 with a smile and hands ready to embrace the blessings of the New Year.

This spectacular night was hosted by Pepillo Origel and Jessica Díaz de León, who entertained this celebration in an atmosphere of celebration, where to the rhythm of music where all the people danced and enjoyed the festive atmosphere in “The Best Little City in the World”.

In addition, all the inhabitants of this World Heritage City were able to enjoy fireworks and a light show from every corner of the municipality, as there was a spectacular burning from the parish of San Miguel Arcángel, the Municipal Palace, the Civic Plaza and some neighborhoods.

During all the festivities, the Department of Public Safety was attentive to the different events held in the historic center and the neighborhoods, colonies, and communities, registering a white balance throughout the San Miguel territory.
