Former NBA player teaches professional class to children in SMA

Busrhaud Williams, an active member of the San Antonio Spurs academy and former professional NBA player, offered a class for children and young people from San Miguel with the intention of not only promoting sports but seeing it as a way of life and income.
It was a professional public workshop called ‘Tu Futuro Básquetbol’, with a community of children and young sanmiguelenses, who received training from the expert athlete.
“Yesterday he was with all the children in the park (Benito Juarez), it was a free event, it was full of people. What better than with international figures so that San Miguel is also in the spotlight of international sports,” said José Cruz González, director of the Municipal Sports Commission (Comude).
More than 600 children and young people from this municipality received professional training from this specialist in individual player development, who is also a USA Basketball certified coach.
International training
This international training, for players from 8 to 18 years old, was held at Benito Juarez Park, which is the most important space for basketball in San Miguel.There, Coach Shad instructed the San Miguel youth on the proper techniques for physical conditioning, as well as the strategy for each position in this sport.
In addition, he spoke to them about the values that lead any person to success, based on teamwork, healthy coexistence, discipline, and the ambition to reach the goal.
This led Shad to professionalism in the NBA and to become the professional coach of Long Lions in China.
