In the first minutes of December 12, the fire began to devastate the shoe factory El Botín Rojo, which manufactures the San Miguel Shoes brand.
Throughout the early hours of the morning, members of the Fire Department, Civil Protection, Red Cross, and other emergency teams, participated in the scene to try to control the fire that ended up collapsing the building as well as 2 other houses next to it.
The fire grew in such a way that they had to ask for reinforcements from the Fire Department of Dolores Hidalgo and San José Iturbide.
Mayor Mauricio Trejo was at the scene, and in a video, he reported that two stationary tanks that could have caused a greater tragedy were immediately removed.
The shoe factory belongs to the Gallardo family, to which the PAN councilwoman in the Cabildo, Paulina Gallardo, belongs.
So far it is not known what caused the fire.
