Christmas Fair in San Juan de Dios Neighborhood

About 100 merchants from San Miguel participate in the Christmas Fair installed in the traditional neighborhood of San Juan de Dios, offering typical products of the season so that citizenscan acquire everything they need for the holidays.
The sale will remain until Tuesday, December 24, on the periphery of the iconic San Juan de Dios market, that is, on San Pedro, San Rafael and Indio Triste streets, as well as in Plaza Garibaldi.
Local merchants offer various decorative items typical of Christmas that is lived with the essence of San Miguel. Among the stalls flutter strips of metallic rain, colorful piñatas, moss, hay and other items for the traditional nativity scene, lights, pine trees, among other merchandise.
Along with those of Christmas items, on Rivera del Río Street, fruit, candy and cookie merchants will be placed, starting December 14, to offer everything necessary for the traditional posadas.
San Miguel merchants invited people to prefer local commerce to strengthen the economy of the families of San Miguel de Allende.
“Everything stays here in San Miguel, we don’t come from outside, we are from here in San Miguel de Allende and the money stays right here. We appreciate that they continue to give us this permission. We strengthen our local economy,” said Teresa Acevedo, producer and merchant.
The Christmas Fair is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and has the participation of different unions of local merchants.
