“Today we inaugurate a great event “Beyond Water 2022, an event that brings together great experts from the hydraulic sector who come to share their successful experiences that will allow us to continue advancing to consolidate the water sustainability of Guanajuato and Mexico”, said the General Director of the State Water Commission Paco García León at the inauguration of the Water Summit that takes place in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende.
He said that Beyond Water seeks synergy in all sectors that allows harmony between human development and the environment and develop an event of this level in the State, reaffirms Guanajuato’s commitment to innovation, modernity, vanguard, sustainability and sustainability of water.
“As has been the indication of Governor Diego Sinhue, this six-year term is characterized by the impulse to the mind, and here we are applying it in the hydraulic sector, without leaving anyone behind and opening the dialogue so that we have water in quantity, quality and opportunity in the present, without risking future development, we can assure that Beyond Water is the platform where the new water policies that mark the guidelines to be more efficient,” said Paco García León.
He said that Beyond Water will mark an era in Guanajuato, an era where the avant-garde and hydraulic modernity are the guide to achieve sustainability and conservation of water.
“Today we are opening the doors of Beyond Water, to continue with the professionalization of the sector and generate a better use of the vital resource, which allows us to draw up projects, programs and the implementation of public policies that open paths for sustainable development”
For his part, the Governor of the State of Guanajuato wishes the greatest success for this edition of Beyond Water 2022 “It is a pleasure to welcome all national and international participants to Beyond Water which is a great event linking the State Water Commission, the hydraulic sector and society in general”.
He said that Guanajuato is working on responsible and comprehensive management of this vital resource with a vision of the future, seeking to guarantee the human right to water.
“In Guanajuato we are promoting a transition towards the mind, hence the importance of this summit, where experts will share their knowledge, successful practices and effective public policies,” said the state president.
He invited them to break paradigms, think outside the box and face water challenges with innovation.
It should be noted that this first day of Beyond Water conferences were held by representatives of the Embassy of Spain and Latin America Water Services with the presentation Operation of the urban water cycle where strategies, actions and public policies that the Iberian Country has promoted to contribute to an adequate urban water cycle were shared, since for Spain it is fundamental and crucial to promote the efficiency of the vital liquid because it is part of its actions to promote the balance of the sustainability of the resource and guarantee sustainable development for future generations.
Water Sustainability in Agribusiness: Murcia Case was the second of the topics that were presented on this first day of activities and in which the good practices of how this Spanish region is a pioneer area in the world in the reuse of wastewater for agricultural use, as well as in the execution of technology projects for food production were announced.
It should be noted that this region is known as “the Garden of Europe” since 20% of Spanish fruit and vegetable exports to the European Union come from Murcia.
Subsequently, the Master Panel: Efficient Use of Water in Agriculture was held with the participation of the heads of Conagua in Guanajuato, Secretary of Agrifood and Rural Development and Irrigation Districts 011, 085 and 014 of Mexicali Baja California.
In this Panel the participants agreed that agriculture is the heart that feeds us, so they shared that it is very important to join efforts and wills to promote and promote actions that contribute to an adequate use of water with the greatest efficiency in this sector in order to consolidate its sustainability.
In the afternoon and to end this first day of activities Nicolás Monterde Country Manager of Idrica presented the paper Advances in technological innovation applied to water in Mexico, where he stressed that innovating, developing, undertaking and researching new technologies in the hydraulic sector are the key to advance in the modernity and vanguard of the efficiency of both national and international water systems.
This event was attended by the Municipal Presidents of Victoria, Valle de Santiago, the President of the Council of Sapasma San Miguel de Allende on behalf of the Municipal President, Deputy Victor Zanella Huerta as representative of the State Congress, representatives of the Lerma Chapala basin council, of the 011 Irrigation Districts, 014 and 085, the National President of ANEAS, as well as representatives of the Water Operating Agencies of the municipalities of the State of Guanajuato and the national hydraulic sector.
