Arrival of the Lord of the Column in SMA

It is official, the arrival of the Lord of the Column to San Miguel de Allende is on Sunday, April 3 of this year, with this would be celebrating the 199th visit of the venerated images that are taken from the Sanctuary of Atotonilco to the temple of San Juan de Dios in San Miguel.

The Brotherhood of the Lord of the Column has already shared the complete program and it is as follows.

On Sunday, April 3 is the entrance of the venerated images of the Lord of the Column, Mary Most Holy of Sorrows, and the apostle Lord St. John, to the temple of San Juan de Dios, at 8:00 am.

Bishop Victor Alejandro Aguilar Ledesma would be in charge of receiving them and carrying out the Eucharistic celebration, accompanied by Father Fernando Manriquez and Rector Dante Gabriel Jimenez.

The “daily” community masses during the stay of the venerated images will be at 12:00 noon. Likewise, at 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., the masses of some families will also be celebrated.

It should be noted that it remains to be confirmed how the arrival of the venerated images would be given, that is, if with some restrictions on the issue of covid, as happened in 2020 and 2021, that their transfer was given in a vehicle.
