San Miguel de Allende, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, is preparing to dazzle again with the second edition of the Festival of the Arts (FASMA).

On this occasion, the guest country will be Austria, which will share its cultural wealth through various artistic expressions such as musical works, film cycles and conferences.

What awaits you at FASMA 2023 in San Miguel de Allende?

According to Eduardo Adame, director of the Festival of the Arts (FASMA 2023) of San Miguel de Allende, during 17 days more than 100 cultural events will be held in the different venues of the city.

Lorenz Brunner, director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Mexico said:

“We will have a very fun and different program, with music, plastic art and a group of students from different Latin American countries who study music in the city of Salzburg”

The program of this edition promises to be extremely diverse, with workshops, exhibitions, classical music, theater, dance, international cinema, conferences with prominent writers and classes for children, among other activities that will be available to all attendees.

One of the highlights of the festival will be the concert in tribute to two great Austrian composers of classicism: Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The president of the St. Michael’s Opera, Charles H. Oppenheim, stressed the importance of paying tribute to Austria through the music of these two geniuses.

While many of the events presented at FASMA will be free, with the aim of promoting multiculturalism and inclusion, there will also be activities with a cost.

However, special rates and discounts will be offered to encourage visitors to attend.

The second edition of FASMA 2023 in San Miguel de Allende will be held from August 4 to 20.

The director of the festival mentioned that in the first edition participated about 30 cultural associations and various government institutions of San Miguel de Allende.

In addition, he stressed that over 10 days, the festival offered 70 cultural events and attracted approximately 6 thousand visitors, both domestic and foreign.

This year, it is expected to surpass those figures and provide an even more memorable experience.
