The picturesque town of San Miguel de Allende is thrilled to announce the return of the highly  anticipated 2nd Annual Plein Air Festival, an immersive celebration of art and nature, taking place  from November 9-12. Presented by Galeria San Francisco, Tere Lejero VP of IWS Mexico,Irina  Yushmanova IWS Irina Endorphine Art, Cesar Gordilo  and Efren Gonzalez, this year’s festival promises to be an unforgettable experience for art enthusiasts, nature lovers, and the local community alike.

Plein air painting, the practice of creating artwork outdoors and on-location, captures the essence of the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture that make San Miguel a haven for artists worldwide. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the charming streets, lush gardens, and historic landmarks that have inspired generations of artists.

“We are excited to bring back the Plein Air Festival to San Miguel,” said Linda Whynman, event organizer and member of Galeria San Francisco Art Studios. “This festival showcases the beauty of our town and the talent of artists who find inspiration in its surroundings. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the convergence of art and nature.We welcome artists from Mexico, the states and around the world to participate. This year we have amazing prizes including 10,000 pesos for best in show.”

Artists of all levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals, are invited to take part in the festival which is based in Fabrica Aurora. The event will include plein air painting competitions, interactive workshops, and engaging demonstrations by renowned artists. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase artwork directly from the artists, fostering a strong connection between creators and the community.
