Audubon de Mexico is greeting 2019 with a new series of guided outings in San Miguel de Allende in partnership with naturalist and cultural historian, Arturo Morales Tirado. Taking place the last Saturday of each month, Wild Side Adventures will take us to intriguing nearby places to explore and enjoy the flora, fauna and the rich and fascinating natural and cultural heritage of our region.
Our first adventure takes place on Saturday January 26, with a guided hike through one of the most spectacular volcanic canyons in our area of Mexico: Red-Tailed Hawk Canyon.
Be prepared for a fun and an enriching experience as Arturo, a passionate naturalist and professional guide, leads us from the emblematic Hill of the Three Crosses into Red Tail Hawk Canyon, where he will describe how the geological force of Palo Huérfano volcanoformed the canyon and the greater surrounding landscape, to lay the “groundwork” for future settlement by plant, animal and human life. As we follow the path through the canyon, we’ll find many opportunities to form a deeper understanding of and closer connection to the wonders of our natural world.
To reserve your place, email your name, phone number and the number of people joining you to audubondemexico@gmail.com.
