  • On Wednesday, March 19, at the Jewish Cultural and Community Center (JC3), Callejon de las Moras 47, at 7pm, writer-musician Russell Kaback will perform his award-winning one-man show 25044, a musical story based on the life of his grandfather Szyjek Magier, a teenage Polish Jew who spent four years in Nazi labor and concentration camps.

Kaback received the 2016 Joel and Linda Abromson Award and the 2018 Maine Arts Commission Project Grant in support of bringing his musical show into schools in Maine. This work has been performed in venues in Maine and Massachusetts since 2014, at the PortFringe festival in Portland, and in his grandfather’s hometown of Bendzin, Poland, in 2018. In 2022 he began collaborating with master storyteller Antonio Rocha to create the one-man musical storytelling version of the show, the version that will be presented in San Miguel for the first time on March 19.

Doors at the JC3 open at 6:30 for socializing. Wine and refreshments will be available for purchase.

The cost of tickets at the door is 150 pesos for JC3 members, and 250 pesos for nonmembers. To purchase in advance online, CLICK HERE.
