An evening with singer-songwriter Andy Ross

Come meet and hear Andy Ross for an evening of song hosted by Bordello Galería at Casa de la Noche on Monday, November 14th at 6.00 pm (doors open 5.30 pm)

Andy is a singer-songwriter from the UK, currently based in San Miguel, who follows an English melodic tradition.  As a teenager, and after his brother taught him his first guitar chords, a love affair with the Beatles songbook swiftly followed.  Andy recollects, ‘after learning their beautiful, timeless songs, I began to get a feel for which chords worked well together;  once I had a nice sequence, a pretty melody seemed almost inevitable.’   Andy sang and played on London’s acoustic circuit in bands and later as a singer-songwriter, but in more recent times he has focused on songwriting.

His songs are inspired by the mechanics of destiny, spirituality, relationships, love (romantic and otherwise), and by ‘brave people with big hearts and combine a melancholic vibe with an ethereal, uplifting quality.’  Andy says ‘when I relate to the feeling in a song I admire, I am left feeling immeasurably better about life.  My aim is to try and achieve the same with my own compositions.  San Miguel has inspired my creativity and I’d like to share a little of that.’

At the Bordello Andy will be performing songs from his album catalog and some fresh San Miguel creations.    A selection of 13 of Andy’s songs will be available for purchase on USB drives. Entry is 50 pesos.

The Bordello Galeria is located in the public rooms at Casa de la Noche, Organos 19, one-half block off Hernandez Macias. Andy will perform in the White Lantern Salon, a fiesta room with great acoustics for his gentle sound.
