The piano is one of the very few instruments that can be played by two people at the same time and many musicians have used this resource in their compositions. At present the repertoire for piano for four hands is so varied that it allows us an enormous diversity of repertoire.
With this in mind, Amaury Ríos and Mauro Ledesma have designed a program that will take us through different stages and periods of music, starting with a work by one of the composers most gifted in melody, Franz Schubert’s enchanting Military March in D Major. Although there are arrangements for band and orchestra, its original version is that of cuatro manos.
Continuing with the four-hand repertoire and to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninov, Amary and Mauro will perform his 6 Morceaux, op. 11, a work where the lyrical capacity of the composer is manifested, in addition to all the technical challenges that the work of this Soviet composer always presents.
