“Cantando entre montañas” es un recorrido histórico a través de la diversidad musical del estado de Guanajuato y sus regiones, presentando diferentes matices y colores musicales con diversas instrumentaciones que van desde los instrumentos prehispánicos e indígenas como el huehuetl y las flautas de carrizo hasta los sonidos del violín, la guitarra y la vihuela de los alegres sones y jarabes coloniales. La variedad del repertorio que se presenta incluye danzas y cantos de la ritualidad guanajuatense, corridos del Bajío, Sones de Celaya y Coloniales y hasta canciones infantiles que crean una experiencia de inmersión en la rica y diversa tradición musical guanajuatense, abundante en su mestizaje y sincretismo de influencias indígenas y europeas.
“Singing Between Mountains” is a historical journey through the musical diversity of the state of Guanajuato and its regions, presenting different shades and musical colors with various instrumentations ranging from pre-Hispanic and indigenous instruments such as the huehuetl and reed flutes to sounds of the violin, the guitar and the vihuela of the happy sones and colonial syrups. The variety of the repertoire that is presented includes dances and songs of the Guanajuato ritual, corridos from the Bajío, Sones de Celaya and Coloniales, and even children’s songs that create an immersion experience in the rich and diverse Guanajuato musical tradition, abundant in its miscegenation and syncretism. of indigenous and European influences.
The Teatro Santa Ana is an intimate 91-seat theater, located inside the Biblioteca Publica. For over 20 years, the Teatro Santa Ana has been a premiere venue for theatrical productions, musical concerts, films and conferences in Centro historico San Miguel de Allende.
