    Auditions will be held the morning of Tuesday, September 10 and afternoon of Thursday, September 12 to qualify performers for the festival Showcase Finale on October 5. We are looking for stories based on your own personal, true life experience, about seven minutes long. Please pre-register at smastories@gmail.com

    We can also answer any questions about times, locations and other details of the auditions and the Storytelling Festival at that email address.

    Want to tell a story? Or just listen to one?San Miguel’s favorite storytelling event of the year kicks off with a free Open Mic Storytelling event on Wednesday August 21 at PaprikaRestaurante. No audition is required.  If you are a storyteller, please come at 5:30pm to register. Stories start at 6:00pm.

     

    We are looking for both new and experienced storytellers, with stories based on your own personal, true life experience, about seven minutes long. We ask that you know your story and tell it without a written script.

     

    This year we will have storytelling workshops in late August and in September,in English and Spanish, for storytellers to learn the art or to polish their technique. The workshop consists of coaching by an experienced storyteller in a supportive atmosphere. Please contact us at our email below to reserve your seat in our workshops.

     

    Auditions will be held September 10 and 11 in the Sala Literaria at Belles Artes to qualify performers for the festival Showcase Finale.

     

    There will be stories in Spanish performed September 27 in the Sala Literaria at Bellas Artes, with some special guest storytellers.

     

    The festival’s Showcase Finale stories will be performed in the Teatro Angela Peralta on Saturday October 5, including a lobby reception.
