Day Trip to Verde Esperanza Cooperative

We invite you to learn about a wonderful project in the San Cayetano community of San Luis de la Paz where a number of peasant families have come together to form an ethical, ecological and sustainable farming cooperative known as Verde Esperanza (Green Hope). Producing natural products, without pesticides, pollutants or preservatives, they actively promote the importance of community over individualism, cooperation over competition, integral well-being and a decent livelihood over economic gain.

The trip from San Miguel de Allende to San Cayetano takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Schedule for the day:

Meet at 9:00 am at the Center for Global Justice’s office at Calzada. de la Luz #42

Arrive at Verde Esperanza at 10:30 am.

Tour the site and talk with the cooperative members about their project.

Lunch at 12:00 pm

Leave at 2:00pm and arrive in San Miguel at 3:30pm

The fee of $800 pesos includes transportation, lunch and a guide.

Space is limited, preregistration is required.
