October 31
Day of the Dead is celebrated on November 2. SMA will be full of visitors and activities, we like to invite you to a fun Pre- Day of the Dead. The main belief surrounding this special day is that during this time, the spirits of deceased loved ones return to the earthly realm to visit their families. It’s a time to honor and remember those who have passed away, not as a mournful occasion but as a joyful celebration of their lives. So bring your memories and pictures of your dearly departed that are in your memories and share those stories.
We will begin our 2024 traditional “pre” day of the dead celebration at ten in the morning on October 31. Join us at any time during the day and share with us your experiences with your friends and relatives that have passed or just sit under a tree or in a hammock and quietly reminisce about them. Feel free to bring a picture and put in our altar during the day. Following is a menu of the feast to enjoy throughout the day.

Our farm is small in comparison to our neighbors but that gives us quiet, privacy and fresh air. The views out over the Bajio are beautiful – the only other way to get these views is from a hot air balloon! Wander amongst our fruit and olive trees. Play with the dogs. Feed the chickens and turkeys. Get away from the noise and crowds of San Miguel and spend an afternoon on the country.
