Based on the book by Juan Gonzalez, Harvest of Empire explores the political events, social conditions and U.S. governmental actions that have led millions of Latinos to leave their homelands and move to the United States.
Harvest of Empire: The Untold Story of Latinos in America is a 2012 feature-length documentary film based on the book Harvest of Empire: A History of Latinos in America, written by journalist Juan González. The film was directed by Peter Getzels and Eduardo López, and premiered in New York and Los Angeles on September 28.
The Latin American Relief Fund is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, supporting humanitarian organizations, that assist migrants and refugees in Mexico, including Albergue ABBA shelter in Celaya. LARF seeks to raise awareness about the plight of migrants fleeing poverty, violence, political persecution and the consequences of climate change.
The Teatro Santa Ana is an intimate 91-seat theater, located inside the Biblioteca Publica. For over 20 years, the Teatro Santa Ana has been a premiere venue for theatrical productions, musical concerts, films and conferences in Centro historico San Miguel de Allende.
