Event Category: All Events, Mexico Holidays/Observances, and Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead

An invitation to witness one of humanity’s most beautiful poetic stories of resilience and no one can take away our dance. In xochitl, in cuicatl” are Nahuatl words for flower and song: analysis of colonial cultural-social transformations through Nahuatl metaphor. An original performance offering, and exploration of, ancestral knowledge through the Mesoamerican tradition.
“No one will tell us what to do. In the midst of barbering and extermination, our grandmothers and grandfathers learned to flow; Here we are waiting for midnight to sing and offer the aroma of flowers, here we await for dawn to dance in the spiritual militia. Nobody could, nobody could”
We are Toltec, we are Chechimeca, Nahñu, Pame, Mexica, Nahuatl, Mestizos. Being a danzante is a gift, an honor and a responsibility. We must not dishonor our brilliant path.
