This Saturday, October 2, 2021, the traditional entry of Xúchiles will take place.
In a different scenario and at a distance, in the face of the health emergency caused by Covid-19, there will be no dances, no contingents on foot and access to the first painting of the city will be suspended. The tradition will only be available through social networks.
The Xúchiles will be transported in vehicles from the participating communities and neighborhoods to the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel. It will be at 06:00 hours that the transmission through the Municipal Government’s social networks will begin, thus, respecting all prevention measures, the digital party can be followed from San Miguel homes.
It is important to consider the time for transfers in the downtown area, since pedestrian and vehicular access to the first square of the city will be restricted until the ceremony concludes.
The participating communities, neighborhoods and neighborhoods are: Community of Tirado, Cruz del Palmar, Valle del Maíz, Nuevo Pantoja, San Miguel Viejo, souls of Agustín and Macedonio Ramírez from the community of Guerrero, souls of Puerto de Calderón, Santa Cruz de los Milagros de la Cieneguita and Santa Cruz del Pueblo.
The ceremony of indigenous origin transports us to the time of the conquest of the Faith (1531), in which Chichimeca captains such as Martín Patlán, Manuel Luna, Macedonio Ramírez and Marco Degollado and Indians already evangelized, fought against their own racial brothers to get them out of idolatry and lead them towards the Christian faith.
This historical moment is remembered every year, with the entry of the Xúchiles and the souls in honor of all the ancestors who fell in this battle for the conquest of the Christian religion.
