Every year, the “Review of the Alborada” pays posthumous tribute to a person that worked to preserve the traditions of San Miguel de Allende.  It honors the memory of Antonia González, daughter of the family of Don Prisco, creator of the stars that “dance” in the patron saint festivities and one of the founders of the great celebration.

The Dawn Review is an event that serves for people who, due to their health or age, cannot attend one of the most special events within the festive program and previously announces the origin of the Dawn, a totally family moment.

Friday, September 20 is the “RESEÑA “REHEARSAL” OF THE ALBORADA 2024″ this year they call it “reseña of the century of the dawn 2024” because this year they celebrate 100 years of the dawn and they will go out with a bang for this festival.

1. This reseña “rehearsal” of the dawn (September 20, 2024) is made a week before the actual Alborada and is the representation of how the entry of neighborhoods into the central area will take place, but this is done at an earlier in the day hour so the young and the elderly may enjoy in this festivity, in order to stage and prepare for the day of Alborada, which will be the early morning of September 28, 2024, when the stars, lighters and burners enter at dawn to carry out the controlled burning of fireworks rockets called “Alborada” at 4am from September 28, 2024.

2. The Alborada reseña receives this name from the review or historical remembrance that is read during the event, revealing the history, origin and initiators of the Alborada, which was made for the first time on December 8, 1924 (exact date of the century) and which was later moved to the parish in 1925 to celebrate San Miguel Arcángel.

3. This year, following the events of the Alborada Commemorative year, the reseña” will be held on September 20 and later on September 28, 2024, the Alborada in honor of San Miguel Arcángel,

4. but it will be on December 8, 2024 when the historical commemoration of the First Dawn that was celebrated in this city of San Miguel de Allende will be held, where the support of municipal authorities is expected to highlight these events and currently are planning what will take place during this Centennial festivity.

5. Finally La Alborada of the year 2025 will conclude the Commemorative year with the 100th anniversary of the transfer of La Alborada to the main parish of San Miguel Arcángel.
