Jóvenes Adelantre Congress 2.0 – Celebration / Storytelling / Mingle

Five years after Jóvenes Adelante inaugurated an Annual Congress cut short by covid, JA presents Congress 2.0, themed on 300 lives transformed since 2001, and our collective ongoing stories to which JA gives voice.

This year’s special event is a featured presentation of 2 documentary, short subject films of marginalized youth finding their voices as a means of healing and catharsis to go beyond the circumstances of their birth. It will be followed by an hour-long facilitated storytelling workshop with a small group of JA students and graduates who will volunteer in advance. The rest of the attendees will be observers, auditors only.

These universal stories of resilience are presented and produced by the Youth Documentary Academy of Colorado Springs, CO. They are shared with JA as sources of inspiration that crosses borders. Distinct, but parallel to many of JA’s student stories, these videos will leave you touched and inspired.

The general public including applicants and their families are also invited to attend these afternoon sessions.

About Youth Documentary Academy (YDA) 

Youth Documentary Academy (YDA) was formed in 2013 to train youth from under-represented backgrounds how to make professional documentary films. Working hand in hand with award-winning, nationally recognized filmmakers and television producers, youth produce high caliber, emotionally-driven first- person programs that derive from their own lived experiences. Currently YDA’s Our Time series is featured on 80% of US Public Broadcast stations.

EFL Tutors, other volunteers & supporters, current students and a growing number of our 300 graduates!
