JUST IN CASE YOU HEAR SIRENS TODAY AND SOMETIMES FIREFIGHTERS! TODAY IS THE DAY OF THE FIREFIGHTER IN MEXICO AND IN SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE THERE WILL BE A LOT OF ACTIVITIES

“Fireman’s Day was initially July 1st, it was changed in 1956 to August 22nd for being the date on which the first Fire Brigade of the Mexican Republic was founded, in the port of Veracruz in 1873”

PROGRAMS IN SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE TODAY THURSDAY AUGUST 22, 2024

1. 11:30am to 3pm Kids Art and Painting and Truck Show on Conspiracy Boulevard.
2. 12pm, Main Garden, ambulance delivery.
3. Opening of the exhibition on Conspiracy Boulevard.
4. Thanksgiving Mass at the Sanctuary Casa Hogar Guadapano ‘Mexiquito’
5. 8pm, Eucharistic Celebration at St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
6. 8pm to 10pm, on base (uptown garden area) firefighter day dinner.

“Fireman’s Day is celebrated, on dates that differ from country to country, in tribute to those who work in the fight against fire. The majority of fire departments belong to the public service and a minority are private. They can be paid or volunteers who work for free”
