🎄✨ Live the magic of the Posadas 2024! 🎶🌟
The shepherds, the singing of carols, the living mystery and the families are already in the streets of the “Most Beautiful City in the World” to enjoy the “Posadas Tradicionales” with the essence of San Miguel.
From Monday, December 16 until Christmas Eve, groups of pilgrims will go from six in the evening through the neighborhoods, colonies and communities to ask for a posada, the tours are scheduled to last one hour.
The procession of pilgrims is led by a living mystery (representing Mary, Joseph and the Angel), who is followed on a float by shepherds singing Christmas carols.
The Posadas culminate in a festive feast with tamales, atoles and buñuelos, and the breaking of piñatas.
In addition to the “Posadas Públicas” in neighborhoods such as San Antonio or San Rafael, the neighborhoods organize their own Posadas, in which case the Department of Welfare and Social Development, under the direction of the Mayor, will provide aguinaldos (relics or snacks) to maintain the traditions among the people of San Miguel and not interfere with the organization of the Posadas.
Posadas Tradicionales 2024 will end with the cooing of the baby Jesus on the night of December 24th in the Jardín Principal, right in the kiosk where the nativity scene is located, a cultural heritage of the people of San Miguel.
