Learn how to create linocut prints at home without a press
Join inspiring visual artist, illustrator and printmaker, Alejandro Anaya, for an online workshop experience, learning how to create linocut prints at home, without a press, and with water-based inks. Learn the basics with us, share in our private Facebook group for on-going encouragement, then carry on to create and develop your own printmaking style — in the comforts of your home!
The process of linocut printmaking is to carve a stamp on a piece of linoleum. We’ll discuss the process, design and draw on the linoleum, then carve the necessary areas for your design to be stamped on paper with water-soluble ink. We’ll do this without a printing press, so you can discover how to continue to create beautiful designs on your own.
During this 3-session workshop, you’ll learn basic techniques for printmaking without the use of a press, or the use of oil-based inks, by instead using water-soluble ink. This way, you’ll avoid the need for toxic solvents in your home.
