The Book Fair in San Miguel de Allende will feature an extensive program of activities, such as lectures, artistic presentations, movie hours and more.
The Book Fair in San Miguel de Allende returns in its second edition, an event that will bring together publishers from the region from August 4 to 13 at the Ignacio Ramírez Cultural Center and will be open to the public from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The fair is promoted by the Directorate of Culture and Traditions of the municipality, which seeks to promote the habit of reading, as well as having for the first time in the history of San Miguel an international book fair.
In that sense, the director of Culture and Traditions, Acacio Martínez, stressed the importance of having these events in the municipality, being a place rich in history and culture.
“It is an important foray of San Miguel de Allende in the intellectual sphere. San Miguel has a very important cultural tradition, in San Miguel books are made and much is read since the viceregal period, here was the most important and most modernized school of philosophy of the viceregal period, then San Miguel has a very important cultural heritage that should not be lost and it has been thought, the municipal president has a long-term project to establish in San Miguel the international book fair “, the official stressed.
It should be noted that the 2023 Book Fair will have the participation of publishers from the states of Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, State of Mexico, Michoacán and Zacatecas, in addition to the participants of the municipalities of Guanajuato and the sanmiguelenses who will exhibit their texts, which visitors can acquire.
As part of the program presented in this exhibition, there will be activities for young and old, such as:
International ballet
Conferences
Hours of cinema
Storyteller
Mariachi groups
Creation and illustration workshops
Roundtables
Theatrical and book presentations
Puppet circuses
Concert, as a closing, by the artist Morganna LoveIn addition, the Directorate of Culture and Traditions will present a text entitled “Catechism”, in which there will be brief and timely data on the history that encompasses the municipality. As an innovation to this festival, three titles will be presented that will tell part of the history of the World Heritage City.
