“Singing Between Mountains” is a historical journey through the musical diversity of the state of Guanajuato and its regions, presenting different shades and musical colors with various instrumentations ranging from pre-Hispanic and indigenous instruments such as the huehuetl and reed flutes to sounds of the violin, the guitar and the vihuela of the happy sones and colonial syrups. The variety of the repertoire that is presented includes dances and songs of the Guanajuato ritual, corridos from the Bajío, Sones de Celaya and Coloniales, and even children’s songs that create an immersion experience in the rich and diverse Guanajuato musical tradition, abundant in its miscegenation and syncretism. of indigenous and European influences.
The Teatro Santa Ana is an intimate 91-seat theater, located inside the Biblioteca Publica. For over 20 years, the Teatro Santa Ana has been a premiere venue for theatrical productions, musical concerts, films and conferences in Centro historico San Miguel de Allende.
