Richard and Lee invite you to join them at Casa Papaya for 2 of our favorite events of the year! In October, our Moroccan dinner is one that our guests anticipate with tremendous excitement, and Lee looks forward all year to cooking some of her favorite dishes. For this dinner we’ll have two nights, Tuesday October 24 and Wednesday October 25th starting at 6:00 with cocktails and 1st course on the roof. Please email and let us know what night you would like to reserve, for how many people, and how many regular or vegetarian menus at your table.
As for Thanksgiving – well, it might be early, but so many of our wonderful guests have been asking to reserve already that we decided it was time to put it out there. Thanksgiving this year is Thursday November 23rd. We’ll be doing one seating at 3:00 PM, on the rooftop. This will be a very traditional Thanksgiving menu with Lee’s personal touches. I can provide a vegetarian entree if you let me know at the time you reserve.
Prices for both menus are listed at the top of the menu – and of course, a welcome cocktail or mocktail is included, and you are encouraged to bring wine or beer to have with your dinner.
We’re so looking forward to seeing our wonderful regulars, and hopefully getting to know some new folks here at Casa Papaya!

Lee Duberman and Richard Fink invite you to the (most likely) last chapter in their story of food, drink and family! Lee and Richard moved to San Miguel with their son Noah and their dog Bailey after 30 years in Vermont. They met while teaching and bartending at the New England Culinary Institute, and within a few years had created four restaurants and two wonderful sons together. Their most well known restaurant, Ariel’s in Brookfield, Vermont, provided 21 years of fine farm-to-table dining to Central Vermont, and their reputation spread much further. They fell in love with San Miguel their first time here in 2001, and for many years they have been plotting their move. Finally, they are here to stay. Casa Papaya is Lee and Richard’s San Miguel home. It is an experiment in hospitality, encompassing three B&B guest rooms, Chef’s dinners open to the public, a wood-fired oven on the roof, providing hand-crafted pizzas on Sunday afternoons, market tours, cooking classes and small-event catering.
