Chorale San Miguel has several events planned for the fall season, including an upcoming chamber music concert, and choral concerts planned for the Day of the Dead and the Christmas season. After concert production costs, remaining proceeds will be applied to the ongoing Pipe Organ project. Mark your calendars now for all of these concerts!
Chorale San Miguel presents clarinetist Eleanor Weingartner with pianist Malcolm Halliday at the Capilla de Tercera Orden on Saturday Oct. 8 at 5 PM.
The concert features French composers Phillipe Gaubert’s Fantasie & Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for Clarinet & Piano, as well as two pinnacles of the repertoire for clarinet, Carl Maria von Weber’s Duo Concertante & the Opus 120 Sonata, Nr 2 in E flat major by Johannes Brahms. Pianist is Chorale San Miguel Artistic Director Malcolm Halliday. Tickets go on sale next week on Friday Set. 23 through BoletoCity.
Of Ms. Weingartner’s performance, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette stated: “Weingartner is…a virtuoso, commanding and totally in control of her instrument.” One of Mexico’s foremost clarinetists, Weingartner divides her musical activity between orchestra, chamber music & teaching. Principal clarinet of the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) and founding member of the Sinfonietta Ventus wind octet, she has recorded four albums that include music of diverse styles from 18th-century Harmoniemusik to works by contemporary Mexican composers.
