Three unique and merry holiday tours from Christmas Eve through Boxing Day cover all aspects of the history and culture of San Miguel de Allende and the surrounding area.

On Christmas Eve at 9:30am is the best start to Christmas, changing how you see the town by explaining the indigenous and Spanish roots to our modern traditions including why nearly everyone is carrying a baby Jesus around town.  The walking is flat and minimal and the cost is 500 pesos per person, or 25 USD.

Then on Christmas Day we’ll get out of town for the morning.  First a cruise along the Silver Route just outside of town between two villages as the route was like back in the 1600s.  Then we visit the cloistered monastery for the art, views and vibes.  Next is Atotonilco, where the revolution against Spain started then visiting the oldest, functioning dam in the area.  Here you get to climb up on it (like a castle wall) and walk around a bit.  On the way back into town we visit the chapel where town originally started.  They moved the village back when building the lake dam so the chapel, like the Silver Route, is much like it appeared centuries ago.

The cost is 1500 pesos per person, or 75 USD.  We leave at 9AM and are back around 1:30, in time for lunch.

Then at noon on Boxing Day (the 26th) we’ll visit the cemetery on one of the most popular days to visit.  Here we’ll enjoy learning why we are the center for the cult of the cross and witchcraft, Day of the Dead, funerary art, the business of the cemetery and what makes our cemetery unique.  The walking is flat and minimal and the cost is 500 pesos per person, or 25 USD, whatever is easier for you.
