Invitation to experience ‘Barra Mexico’ in San Miguel de Allende

The presence of Barra Mexico in San Miguel de Allende is a good opportunity to enjoy the world of alcoholic beverages. This is how Sandra Vázquez, executive director of the Guanajuato State Tourism Council, defined it.

“It is an industry event that has been taking place in Mexico City and is produced by two women who already have a career in the beverage industry. This approach with San Miguel de Allende arose after what happened last year. It was a change in the way we do things,” she explained.

Vázquez pointed out that the pandemic changed the way things were done in tourism. She recalled that this event used to be held in a closed space, in Mexico City. Now, the scenario will be San Miguel de Allende, in an open space. He added that now, they are also thinking of the producers and the final consumer.

“It is an event that, although it is for industries, is also aimed at the end customer this time. It also has to do with the professionalization of those of us who participate in hospitality. It is very important for us. One of the objectives of the Guanajuato Ministry of Tourism is precisely that, to see how we can prepare ourselves in a better way to be as competitive as we can be at the international level,” explained Sandra Vázquez.

DATES IN SAN MIGUEL
Barra México will be held in San Miguel de Allende from August 26 to 30. The activities are scheduled from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., allowing visitors to tour the town to enjoy the other attractions the place has to offer.

“At the time of bringing Barra Mexico opens the possibility of bringing people with an impeccable trajectory in the beverage market because they are not only mixologists. Some people are focused on service. We will have the opportunity for the people who visit us not only to get to know the brands. We want them to have a good experience in the restaurants and bars and try the new cocktail. In addition, they are going to share their trajectory, they are going to share their knowledge,” said Vázquez.
