The 40+ years olds finally got their turn for vaccination here in SMA. The Vaxi Taxi team – comprised entirely of volunteers – transported 60 people over 2 days for their first dose. A huge thank you to the generosity of Matthias Heyer of @Modern Auto Repair / Euro-Latino Racing-Services who again donated his 15-passenger van to bring residents of 2 rural communities into town for their shot. Also much gratitude to Noe De La Flor owner of transportation company Bajio Go who donated a 12-person van and driver Marcos to the cause. (If you’re traveling to SMA, BajioGo is THE airport shuttle to use!)
We wouldn’t be the Vaxi Taxi team without the dedication of returning drivers, C.c. Stark, Timaree McCormack and Chris Stone. Thank you to newcomers NiNi Hind, Kiko Rodriguez and Kathy Frazier.
The awesome attitudes, on-the-fly flexibility, and intrepid problem solving skills of each Vaxi Taxista makes our operation a well-run and fun operation.
We still have more vaccine brigades coming to town and are committed to transporting residents of rural communities to receive this life-saving shot. To date, we have gotten 160 people vaccinated!!
