Due to the constant presence of rains in the municipality during the last few days, the Civil Protection Department carried out monitoring and supervision of the current state of the different bodies of water such as streams, rivers and dams; they ruled out risks for the population.

During the early morning hours they received reports of small overflows in the northeast region of the municipality, therefore, they went to sites such as El Huizachal, El Tejón, Zirándaro, Viñedo San Lucas, Río Laja, Arroyo El Capulín (Cañajo); as well as the Cantera, Calderón and Allende dams.

They determined that some bodies of water had a maximum depth of 15 centimeters, so they do not represent a risk to strategic infrastructure, homes, or inhabitants. Also, since early in the morning, some residents of the areas participated in the removal of dragged material, mainly plastic objects.

The Calderón Dam and La Cantera Dam have a catchment level of 40 and 90 percent, respectively, while the Allende Dam is at 26 percent of its capacity; however, it receives contributions from the Laja and San Marcos rivers.

Rainfall is expected to continue, so they will continue to monitor the areas identified as susceptible to overflows in order to avoid any mishap.
