The master Pedro Friedeberg shows his exhibition “Las Redes Anti Sociales”, his new works based on diverse artistic forms that adopts his concept, his ideas, his creativity and his passion.

“Las Redes Anti Sociales” -on floor and wall with vinyl printed work-, conformed by 9 paintings, 4 sculptural pieces, 12 art/design pieces, 10 print works and 5 works in the form of vinyls, criticizes contemporary society that, being so involved with social networks, has lost the ability to socialize from person to person without the use of digital and virtual media.

San Miguel de Allende has been very important in the life and work of Maestro Pedro Friedeberg, who in 1984, moved to this city where he lived for many years with his family, had his children and was inspired by it.

Maestro Friedeberg was born in 1936 in Italy and arrived in Mexico fleeing the Second World War in 1939, where he lived surrounded by intellectuals, artists and alternative cults.

He studied architecture in Mexico with masters such as Augusto Álvarez, Don Felipe Pardiñas, José Luis Cuevas and Mathías Goeritz, to whom he was an assistant for many years.

In 1962, as a game, he created the Mano Silla, his most iconic piece that catapulted him to worldwide fame, with solo exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, England, Canada, USA, Brazil and Mexico, among other countries.

Today, at 85 years of age, he continues to be one of the most internationally recognized Mexican artists and continues to work in his studio in Mexico City.

The exhibition, in collaboration with Diana Gallery, is on display from now until January 23rd of next year at La Galería de la Plaza Doce18 on Relox Street, in downtown San Miguel de Allende.
