It has been a month since the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) granted permission to the city to continue with the remodeling of “Montes de Oca” street, although with some changes in the project they were planning to do.
They were asked to respect the original state of the street, that is to say, without any planters, stairs or fountains, elements that they contemplated to convert it into a pedestrian zone. They were told to remove all that and to leave the original street with its stone and normal sidewalks for pedestrians, said the institute’s director, David Jiménez.
And the municipality is not obeying, the planters are still there, and once the closure seals were removed, they went to finish making the bollards they had started, a sidewalk on one of the sides and the laying of cobblestone on the road up to the corner with Calle de La Garza.
This is all that has been done to date, for now the place looks alone, there is no one from public works working on the restoration of the street.
