The guitarist and composer Samir Belkacemi, offers us a program with original compositions characterized by strong and innovative tonalities, surprising and unusual harmonic and polyrhythmic modulations, Belkacemi creates a balance between consonant and dissonant sounds, seeking a unique language. Inspired by the incidental music, it seems that throughout the concert, the entire program will move organically, to bring us to a final catharsis and climax. Its harmonic concept is corporeal, abstract and subliminal, creating an effect of orchestration, the influence of this composer, ranging from classical music, as well as flamenco, jazz, blues, rock, Indian, Arabic and world music. His concept is an eclectic fusion. The Mtro. Belkacemi is a great improviser and spontaneous creator, this element is impregnated in moments, in all his interpretations. Resulting in a unique and original proposal. To invite us to the imagination, introspection and to lose ourselves to find ourselves, in the Infinite Universe.
Belkacemi, form part of the select billboard artists of international cultural cooperation, in 2012 was recognized as the best original work in the VI International Guitar Festival in China by the Foreign Ministry.
Belkacemi has presented this concert in different cities of the United States, Mexico, Algeria, Canada and China. With absolute success and standing ovations, from the public, who enjoys this sound experience.
The artist talking about his work:
“I am inspired by the theory of Pythagoras that speaks of numbers, each sphere has a particular tone and vibrate in a frequency, just like human beings, that vibrate in each frequency and in specific movements.
All this is a way of having a philosophical idea of what music is, for me it has a lot to do with the universe, with movement, vibrations, sound and with a language that is not of this world
Music not only has a function of training, but also philosophical, spiritual, psychological and social, that is, it has a greater importance over all the arts, because although it is so abstract, it is direct because it enters the senses without asking or without preceding something, it simply arrives and the brain translates it into an infinity of things, it is said that sounds can evoke smells.
All this relation that there is with the numbers is very clear in the music, because it is a mathematical equation, reasoned but not in the sense of a pure mathematical passion, but with certain mysticism, that’s how it works”.
