The Center for Global Justice is planning to present our Summer Symposium as online webinars to take place every Monday at 1 pm (CDT). You can join the webinars at https://globaljusticecenter.
org/livestream. Like other countries, Mexico is suffering a triple crisis: economic, political and the pandemic. Our informed panel will discuss such topics as:
- What is the basis of the support and the opposition to Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO)?
- AMLO’s leadership
- Partisan politics
- Covid-19 mitigation and opening
- Economic impact on workers, informal sector, small & medium businesses. Government support for above.
- Energy policy – oil vs. solar & wind; public vs. private
- Foreign businesses
- Crime: increasing or decreasing ?
- Anti-corruption campaign
What we do The Center engages in local community support and outreach to promote and advance initiatives and movements toward social justice, grassroots empowerment and democracy, and environmental sustainability. It is also devoted to critical analysis of the processes and impacts of globalization, both local and international. The Center works to develop alternative socio-economic systems that conserve and share the world’s cultural, economic, and environmental resources for the benefit of humankind.
