El Charco del Ingenio presents a temporary exhibition entitled “Nature and my world in small”, which consists of traditional Mexican toys made with natural materials from different parts of the country.

Mario Hernández, director of Charco del Ingenio, points out that they were interested in this exhibition because it emphasizes the use of natural materials that were used years ago with creativity and the intention of entertaining children.

“This is the part that we are interested in showing that, in addition to creativity, people had the knowledge of the elements of nature around them to be able to use them,” he said.

Most of the pieces selected for this temporary exhibition belong to the collection of the Museo La Esquina and come from different parts of the country; They are examples of the work of artisans who, from simple elements available in their region (such as wood, natural fibers, paper and other components), have built toys that imitate the world in a small way for generations.

The exhibition consists of 50 pieces and also includes a sample of the handicraft work of women from San Miguel communities, it will be available until mid-August.

Admission to the exhibition is included in the access to the botanical garden, which is free on Wednesdays and Sundays for people with official identification with domicile in the municipality.
