I recently had Michael Townsend of Quality Custom Builders give my home a face-lift. Complete painting of interior and exterior, installation of a new water tank and hot water heater. He also took on the installation of a gas forced air furnace which is rare in SMA. Michael found the top contractor for this type of work to assure a correct installation. I would recommend Michael highly as someone who is highly ethical, communicative and committed to providing excellent workmanship.

Having completed a kitchen renovation just last month in a traditional MX casa in SMA and survived happily(!), I want to recommend the following contractor for the following reasons ( and more…)
– reasonable price and excellent workmanship
– sub-contractors ( tile, woodwork, cabinets, granite countertops, etc) are very talented, timely, neat, and clearly want to do the job you want done
– follow-up- Incredible! Phone, texts, emails, and always on schedule
-communications- Michael is US bred and totally bi-lingual
– picky with details- Michael pays attention, takes input from homeowner seriously ( not just saying yes to please), and triple checks on things so there is. I misunderstanding.
My husband is a retired engineer and I am in real estate in the states so we both are very specific people!!
Michael does small or large renovations, structural work, and additions and build from scratch and came to me highly recommended! We were very pleased with our renovation!!

Michael handles renovations and new buildings, as well as paint jobs. He has a fantastic team and does great work for reasonable prices.
Michael did a minor renovation (two bathrooms) and complete paint job on my house, inside and out. He was on schedule and easy to work with. He has lived in San Miguel for many years and is bilingual.

And I can only speak very highly of the quality of their work – they did two smaller but complicated renovations for us- a kitchen and a bathroom- often smaller spaces and older Mexican construction creates additional challenges- Michael is a great communicator and has my total respect for his follow-through from start to finish.

I concur. Michael has done 4 projects for me ,one was a complete construction on a bare lot, another one was a complete bathroom renovation . On every occasion he has been on time and on budget (hard to believe , I know) and his workmanship is second to none.

​We recently remodeled our kitchen and want to give a shout out to the great team that we worked with on this project. Michael from Quality SMA brought in a very skilled mason that laid our tile, we had a perota wood island custom built to our design, and the plumbing and electrical team were great. Our kitchen was done in less than six weeks and we couldn’t be happier.
For the countertops we worked with Rodrigo at Stone Depot (on the Caracol), we’re very happy with the quality of the materials.

I have hired Michael and his crew for two small projects one of which is still in progress. I was a licensed building contractor and City Building Inspector in San Francisco for 45 years.
