Sunday Breakfast
Sunday brunch at Antigua Villa Santa Monica is wonderful. Great Mexican and international buffet plus made-to-order omelets and quesedillas. Charming setting, on south side of Parque Juarez. Can’t remember, — maybe $230MXN, maybe a little more? Credit cards accepted; reservations good idea. I think they go from 10 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m.

When we have company in town, we always take them to this restaurant for long, lazy breakfasts because the setting is so very gorgeous. The restaurant is in the open-air central courtyard of a beautiful old hacienda. The courtyard has a big, bubbling fountain and brims with greenery and bright pink and purple bougainvillea. The tables are far enough apart for relaxed privacy – so you never feel crowded. The menu is a simple, traditional Mexican breakfast menu. We love their Huevos Diablos! On Sundays, they serve a very nice brunch buffet.
