Ate there last night and the food is just as good and so is the service.
The new place is a little bigger so there is more room to listen to the
great musicians that are playing there. Saw Alimitri playing “Gypsy Jazz” last
night. You will want to catch him next time he plays.

Don Lupe offers the best fajitas menu, as well as molcajetes and other Mexican specialties. They also have good music: Thursday: Yoremem, San Miguel’s female troubadour, shares her amazing repertoire of Mexican songs..Friday: different artists perform; Saturday: Barbara (Jazz con Sabor) Sunday: Almitri Tzigane plays gypsy jazz and other genres.; Monday: Open Mic!

We recently went to Don Lupe for the first time and it has become one of our favorite places due to the warmth from the staff, the food, value and always something going on with music. Last evening they celebrated 4th of July with free hamburgers, hot dogs and the best pork and bean I have ever had. This is great place if you have never been there.

One of my favorite restaurants – Don Lupe Grill has moved a few doors closer to centro. Still on the Ancha/Salida de Celaya but now just before Pemex/OXXO on the same side of the street in the former Longhorns space. (Salida a Celaya #12)

Now bigger and better with the same delicious Mexican food including many options for vegans and vegetarians as well as carnivores. Music on many nights.

Go when you get a chance – open every day for lunch and dinner

Very nice place to eat and enjoy life. Great people as well as great food, especially for us Texans who enjoy Tex-Mex! A much nicer location and about 100’ closer to town.

Don Lupe Grill has moved to the other side of the Pemex, Salida a Celaya #6. Cesar, his long-time manager, has now opened his own great restaurant, La Cocina de Cesar, in the space just vacated by Don Lupe Grill (ie. Salida a Celaya #12). By all accounts, Javier and Cesar are on very friendly terms, and are frequenting each others’ restaurants and lending a hand to each other as they both start up their new ventures. Very nice guys, and so I urge you to frequent both places!

Just FYI, the Songwriters of San Miguel shows will continue at the same location (now Cesar’s at #12). More information in a couple of days about our show there next week.

Don Lupe is one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet and is always there making sure everything runs smoothly. The food is typical Mexican fare but very high quality and – best of all for those of us with sensitive tummies – really hygienic. I have eaten there many times and never once had a problem afterward. His new location is spacious, lovely art on the walls, and often live music is preformed in the evenings. It’s located at Salida Celaya #6, next to the Mobil station just down from Sterling Dickinson, open 12 – 9 “todos los dias” – everyday! 415 121 3820, but there are many tables so I think reservations would not be required. A great place to take your visitors, because it’s so clean and very Mexican.

We went to Don Lupe Grill Sunday after church and had the most DELICIOUS meal I have had in a good while!!

The new location is SO easy to get to and he has abundant parking. You sit in a covered patio area with mountain views. The garden-like atmosphere is delightful.

Take the road to Celaya to the first tope past Don Pedro. After the tope, turn at the NEXT right and you will see Javi’s Don Lupe sign. SO worth the trip for a pleasant afternoon of great food and charming surroundings.

Yes! We had lunch there on Saturday in the rain and had such a fun time! There’s a covered area, food was so fresh, and Javi regaled us with stories.

Easy to get there, just past Don Pedro, after the gas station take a right and you can see the sign, he’s just off the highway, but sheltered in a wonderful garden. They’ll be having live music soon.
