More than 600 Rotary leaders from 32 states and 10 countries will gather from 26 to 28 February. The event will include artificial intelligence
San Miguel de Allende continues to establish itself as a reliable destination for international events, now as host of RIMEX IA 2026, the National Rotary Meeting.
The most important Rotary meeting in Mexico will be held in “The Best City in the World” from February 26 to 28, 2026, bringing together more than 600 Rotary leaders from Mexico’s 32 states and featuring the participation of more than 50 international representatives from over 10 countries, once again positioning the city as a global meeting point.
For the municipal government headed by Mayor Mauricio Trejo, hosting RIMEX IA 2026 is part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen meeting tourism, consolidate the municipality’s international profile, and reaffirm its identity as a cultural and historical landmark in Mexico.
The program includes plenary sessions, academic meetings, regional coordination meetings, membership forums, business networking opportunities, and the first Mexico–USA Project Fair, with a cross-cutting theme of artificial intelligence applied to social service. The opening ceremony will include honors to the flags of Mexico, Nigeria, Germany, and the United States, in a ceremony symbolizing the international nature of the event.
Among the most notable participants are the message from Rotary International President-elect 2026-2027, Yinka Babalola; the speech by Holger Knaack, Chair of The Rotary Foundation 2025-2026; and the presentation by John Hewko, General Secretary and CEO of Rotary International.
The agenda includes exclusive meetings of current, elected, and nominated Rotary governors; training sessions for club presidents; roundtables on membership, public image, leadership, and peace; as well as cultural and gastronomic activities that will showcase San Miguel’s identity. During the event, there will be an institutional lunch attended by the mayor, Mauricio Trejo Pureco.
The choice of San Miguel de Allende as the venue for RIMEX IA 2026 is based on confidence in a destination that offers quality, identity, and organizational capacity; and confidence in a municipal government, headed by Mauricio Trejo, that has promoted conditions of order, visibility, and results to attract and host international events.
With this meeting, San Miguel de Allende once again demonstrates that it combines culture, history, heritage, institutional stability, and global vision, consolidating itself as a destination capable of generating a lasting impact in the diplomatic, social, economic, and tourism spheres.
